Although 5,500 miles of Colonial Pipeline from Texas to New York was shut down by a cyberattack, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and his Republican colleagues continue to participate in gaslighting.

Despite saying he is opposed to cancel culture, Rep. McCarthy initiated a cancel culture vote to remove Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) from her role as Chair of the House Republican Conference. Breaking from the brainwashed behavior of most Republicans in Congress, Cheney boldly declared her independence from Stupidity (a.k.a. Donald Trump) and spoke about America losing its moral compass. She was booed as she criticized the former president. Even though she had successfully regurgitated Republican talking points in the past, Cheney was never a fan of the January 6th insurrection at the Capitol that Donald Trump incited or his Big Lie that the presidential election was stolen from him.

Consistent with it’s Zero Tolerance for Reality policy, Cheney was punished by Republicans and ousted from her role as the third-highest-ranking member of the House for telling the truth that Trump lost the 2020 presidential election. McCarthy responded to Cheney’s comments about Trump losing the election by saying, “I don’t think anybody is questioning the legitimacy of the presidential election”—which caused followers of QAnon and other right-wing extremist groups across the nation to collectively respond, “Huh?”

Representative Andrew Clyde (R-GA), who doesn’t want to be left off the Republican roster of politicians who sacrificed their integrity on Trump’s altar, supported McCarthy’s claims that nobody was concerned about the election outcome when he stated that January 6th video of insurrectionists looks like “a normal tourist visit.”

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), also a member of the Capitol Hill Gaslighting Cooperative, is no fan of Cheney but is a fan of manipulating Americans into questioning their own sanity. He stated last week, before Cheney’s removal from her leadership role, that her criticisms against the former president are out of line because the Republican party still needs him. Despite the lack of any evidence—other than the MAGA hat Trump has worn that resembles the shape of the hat that working people often wear—Graham claims “Trump is on the side of people working really hard.”

When McCarthy was asked by this publication to comment on his comment concerning the questioning of the legitimacy of the presidential election, he said it didn’t happen.

Russian hackers, who call themselves Dark Side, issued an apology for their hack on America’s largest gas pipeline because it failed to steer the focus away from the former president. They promise to set their hacking goals higher next time to help the United States forget about Trump and move on.
